The website, I’ll call it CD, is also the site I wrote about awhile back (in The Lockstep Has Begun) that banned an entire group of people from commenting in their forum because they had opposed Mr Hopey Changey (Obama). That group of people was banned about 3 days before the 2008 presidential election in the Estados Unidos. Meanwhile, the CD site claims to be “nonprofit, progressive, nonpartisan.” They also say they stand for “peace, social justice, equality and human rights.”
I remember reading some anti-gay comments on their forum before that banning I referred to earlier. One person was very critical of the anti-gay comments. Can you guess what happened? That person’s comments were deleted, but the anti-gay comments were not deleted. The hate was allowed to remain on the forum, while CD claims to stand for “social justice, equality and human rights.” And they are hardly “non-partisan.” They try to disguise their devotion for the “Democratic” Party. They are really just a “front” for the misnamed “Democratic” Party in the Estados Unidos and I suspect that will become more and more obvious as we approach Noviembre/November 2012.Here in the pink barrio, we don’t beg. No beg fests here. If you want to buy something you see and like on the site, you can do so and you will get quality items for your dinero/money. Your dinero will also be going to small, independent “green” stores (whenever possible) and small, independent artists. We are turned off by beg fests, which is why we don’t do that.
With the CD site, I’ve never seen any accounting for the dinero they supposedly take in, if they take in any. They give the impression they do by showing with a graph—although I see no dollars received graph this time—-when they have reached their goals. Is that for real, I wonder? Officially as far as what the readers of the site see, there is no accountability for the dinero/money at all. There are no charts showing how much money was received or how any money is spent and for what from the dinero they supposedly have received from donations. So anyone who contributes to them, in my opinion, is quite gullible. And again, I don’t know what the site claims they’re doing especially when they often just copy and paste other people’s articles.
We feel it’s best to spend dinero wisely rather than giving dinero to a site that’s really a “front” for Mr Hopey Changey (which we are not). We are not a “front” for anyone. When one spends their dinero in the pink barrio, one gets a quality item. On the CD site, all one gets is articles, many (most?) of which one can read elsewhere. Ciao.—rosa barrio
