04.28.12 Hola. When “what is is” told me he was doing a video on The Denialists I thought: Oh don’t get me started on them. There are Denialists all over the place, no matter what the topic. The Estados Unidos/U.S. is a Nation in Denial. The Denialists are thick when it comes to the septic topic of politics or when it comes to being “green” (the excuses flow for why someone *can’t* be green…because it would require them to change their behaviour) and then there are other Denialists. In his video, “what is is” addresses newspeak (read Orwell’s 1984 if you haven’t already). He also looks at our breathable air over a timeline. For Co2 the “safety limit” is 350ppm, and we are now at 394.45ppm. Does anyone care or will they choose to live in Denial? I suspect if most people were asked about it, the responses would be: “I’m whatever,” or “Don’t tell me, I don’t want to know,” or “I’m not going there” the usual Denialist responses. He shows us some lovely flores/flowers in this video. There are things most people can do (such as cycling instead of driving that big SUV) and stop shopping at and supporting corporate box stores with all their packaging, if they want to, which will require a change in people’s behavior, either on their own or by being forced to change their behavior.
