El Cumpleaños de César Chávez
El 31 de marzo de 2013. Hola. Today is el Cumpleaños/the birthday de César Chávez and Google is honouring it. Muy bien. The right-wing is hating on Google for doing so as they think that Google should be honouring El día de Pascua (Easter Day) and Jesús. How tiresome! I’m not in favour of a mega corporation honouring a christian holiday. That would be a bit much. My only problem with the way Google is honouring el Cumpleaños de César Chávez is that his name is español (not inglés/English and is supposed to be written like this: César Chávez (with accents over the vowels of the first syllable of each name). For some reason, Google omitted the accents but if they had used their own search engine and looked around a bit they would have seen his name written correctly. (César Chávez). Accent marks are part of español and I suspect if inglés/English had accent marks over some letters and if people of other languages omitted the accents, you would hear screams of, “LEARN ENGLISH.” As I wrote in this article, I wish some people would learn just a little español. Jorge Ramos y María Elena Salinas (Noticiero Univisión)
El 28 de marzo de 2013. Hola. The corporate media en los Estados Unidos/U.S. are pathetic as many people know. Because of that, the inglés/English language corporate networks have been losing viewers for some time and the español language networks have been gaining viewers.

Two recent example: Telenovelas make Univisión #1 on Tuesday evening and Noticiero Univisión Wraps Up Strong November. On occasion, some talking head on the corporate inglés/English language networks will interview someone from the #1 español language network in los Estados Unidos: Univisión. Two people who are often interviewed are Jorge Ramos and María Elena Salinas of Noticiero Univisión. When they introduce Jorge and/or María Elena, the talking head conducting the interview pronounces their names fairly close to being correct en español. However, then comes the name of their network, Univisión. The English language network talking heads proceed to completely fuck-up the name of the español language network both Jorge and Maria Elena work for. Why is it so difficult to pronounce Univisión correctly? Read more here…

Peak Oil News Update March 23, 2013
El 23 de marzo de 2013. Hola. Today’s topics in the video below include: The U.S. Senate’s non-binding resolution for the Keystone XL Pipeline by a vote of 62-37 in favour of the pipeline.

Big oil spent nearly $31 Million bribing their political prostitutes (no disrespect intended to sex workers). He updates on the barges on San Francisco Bay and gas prices in San Francisco. Then there’s some nice music improvisation from a cellist and in the distance there are some homeless/street people hanging out and enjoying the music. “what is is” talks about not feeding corporations and big box stores whenever possible, which the sheeple with dinero/money WILL continue to do regardless. He responds to a viewer from the February 19th video. Then there’s some jazz improvisation music from a muchacho in the barrio playing his trumpet. More cello música at the end and scenes from the barrio. Chau.—rosa barrio

Naked Muchachos in San Francisco
El 24 de marzo de 2013. Hola. Yesterday afternoon there were 3 of the usual “naked” muchachos in the Jane Warner Plaza all wearing bikini brief underwear or a G-String. The day before, there was one “naked” muchacho in the plaza with his red G-String. My amiga told me yesterday that she heard that the prudes in the Castro barrio are complaining about the G-strings (as I knew they would) but that la policía have said that they can’t do anything about that because the muchachos are within the new law of the city-wide San Francisco nudity ban. So some people are wondering when there might be a new ban on G-strings or maybe tank tops and/or shorts? Cover everything up and muchachos must wear veils. Unfortunately, in our septic society there is a long tradition of giving undeserved consideration to the whining of prudes. This translates into an expectation that the non-prudes must give up their rights/freedoms so that the prudes can feel comfortable until they whine about something else they don’t like. Someone told me the other day when I mistakenly asked the person’s opinion of the nudity ban, he said: Well, if they were “good-looking” guys I would be against the ban. But since they are “ugly,” I’m for the ban. [Disgusted.] I had to just walk away from that person. Loco. What a nut! “Good-looking” is subjective. Who decides that? Some people think the naked muchachos are good looking. Others don’t. But to have a ban based on “looks” and who is “good looking” is ludicrous. What an idiot. But I’m not surprised since that person is also a devout Obamabot. No matter what BO does this muchacho has an excuse for it. As for the Jane Warner Plaza (which needs to be closed), it also looks like the homeless and street people have somehow been kicked out of the plaza by the haters (meaning especially the conservative business district group) since the homeless/street people have not been around for a few days which is unusual. The Stupidity Level Continues to Rise
Hola. El 20 de marzo de 2013. Last October, San Francisco banned plastic bags at retail stores.

The intent was to get people to bring their own bag (either cloth or an used paper bag with the concept being to reduce, reuse and recycle) otherwise pay a minimum of 10 cents for a new paper bag at the store. Well, in gentrified San Francisco it appears that most people don’t give a fuck about the environment any longer. Customers are now paying for something they used to get for free. What stupid people! At my local drug store, they tell me “most people are buying a paper bag.” The concept of bringing your own bag they say, “hasn’t caught on yet.” (Well then it’s not about to). Yesterday I saw 3 cashiers ask, “do you need a bag?” Customer’s answer: Yes. Everyone was buying a paper bag for 10 cents and one customer asked for double-bagging (that’s 20 cents). When I’m in that store most customers are buying a paper bag. In the downtown area of San Francisco, they can charge as much as $1.50 for a shopping bag and I see new shopping bags from the stores down there on occasion. Apparently the idea of being “green” was nothing but a fad with most people. Chau.—rosa barrio

Close the Jane Warner Plaza
The Jane Warner Plaza in San Francisco is in a busy intersection with 17th Street being closed to create part of the Plaza.

There are cement planters on the South, North and East sides of the Plaza and Muni (our public transport system in San Francisco) has its F line street car tracks on the South side and there are green planters bordering the tracks. The F line street car runs through the middle of the plaza to make its turn down Market Street towards the Bay. Read more here…

Peak Oil News Update March 18, 2013
El 18 de marzo de 2013. Hola. Below is today’s “Peak Oil Noticias/News” Update from the pink barrio’s “what is is.” He talks about the following topics: Big Oil and the Keystone XL Pipeline and the u.s. congress (lower case “c” from lack of respect on my part) having been bribed. Isn’t that hard to believe? [sarcasm intended] He shows us some pretty white flowers to give one’s mind a break from malas noticias/bad news. Then on to update on Brent Crude Futures, the barges on San Francisco Bay and gas prices in San Francisco. The bottom dollar figure at the “expensive gas station” is presumably a joke created by someone in the barrio who moved the numbers around. I don’t think it’s supposed to be $9.00+ a gallon yet. He shows us a Fire Weed plant, some pretty pink flowers and a blue flowers (probably Native). Here’s his video. Chau.—rosa barrio

Closeted Gays moving into San Francisco’s Castro
San Francisco’s Castro district: A quickly changing barrio. El 15 de marzo de 2013. Hola. As I’ve written before, there is no shortage of “straights” flooding into the former “Gay Mecca” of San Francisco, known as the Castro barrio/district.
This City is changing very quickly due to gentrification. For some time now I and others have asked: Why are “straights” flooding into the Castro district considering the high rents, expensive real estate, the many empty store fronts, mediocre restaurants and…well other than gay bars what is there to do in the barrio but drink? La muerte de Hugo Chávez.
El 11 de marzo de 2013. Hola. On the topic of Hugo Chávez, I cautiously scanned some comments about his death on U.S. corporate media news sites.

As expected, nearly all comments on all sites were hateful and negative of Hugo Chávez. Lots of ignorance displayed in the comments. One commenter said s/he didn’t know much about the “Central American nation Venezuela.” Venezuela is in South América (América del Sur). Sigh! The sheeple in the Estados Unidos/U.S. dutifully regurgitated in their comments what they had been programmed to think about Chávez by the Bush and Obama regime’s and their propaganda instrument the U.S. Corporate Media Cesspool. La muerte de Hugo Chávez.
El 7 de marzo de 2013. Hola. We were terribly sorry to hear about the death of Hugo Chávez. He was clearly loved by los Venezolanos as demonstrated in the thousands and thousands who lined the street for the procession of his coffin yesterday in Caracas. It was a sea of people mostly wearing red (signifying the Chávistas). He had just won re-election en octubre 2012. His funeral is on Viernes/Friday en Caracas and he is lying in state until then. Hopefully, vice-presidente Nicolás Maduro will be elected presidente. Maduro was the choice of Chávez to replace him. Chau.—rosa barrio

Peak Oil News Update March 7, 2013
El 7 de marzo de 2013. Hola. In today’s “Peak Oil Noticias/News Update” the topics from “what is is” include: The demand for transportations’ fuels, newspeak from the Estados Unidos/U.S., an update on the barges on San Francisco Bay, he updates on Brent Crude Oil Futures and on gas prices in San Francisco. He brings up some noticias about BO (the White House occupant) and Rand Paul’s (former U.S. congressperson Ron Paul’s son) filibuster in the cesspool called the U.S. Senate. He remarks how the so-called “liberals” are turning to the right. (They have to in order to support their messiah’s policies which are to the right of Bush. I’ve learned that so-called “Democrats” stand for nothing but party allegiance. We can’t stand Republicans either, but Republicans at least seem to stand for “principles.”) We see part of the Wind Mobile Tree again (shown in the previous video). And he concludes by showing the blog page of pink barrio and there is currently a tribute at the top of this page to Hugo Chávez. Chau.—rosa barrio
