As of 1 October 2021, there have been 700,258 COVID deaths (Source: Johns Hopkins University) in the United States of North America. When will there be an annual memorial for those deaths? Just last month was the 20th anniversary and memorial for the 2,996 death that occurred on 11 September. We remember those deaths but not the 700,258+ deaths? It seems we're very selective in what we memoralise. It has to do with politics and which deaths can be exploited the most.
